You can use this tool in your keyword research process in order to find the best keyword for your blog or website. Here I will give you a brief description of how to use the Keyword Planner tool for keyword research.
After logging in to your Adwords account from the menu select the item “Tools” and from the dropdown that comes select “Keyword Planner”. You will see the below screen where you can click on “Find new keywords and get search volume data”. Then enter your keyword in “Your product or service” field. In this example I have used the keyword Keyword Planner . There are other optional fields “Your landing page” and “Your product category” where you can enter a website or category for finding new keywords. There are many optional filter fields which you can use to filter the keywords based on location, language, Average monthly search etc. After entering the necessary information you can click on the “Get Ideas” button to find the result of the search.
From the result page click on the “keyword ideas” tab to find the related keywords and you will find the above screen. It will show the Average monthly search volume and the competition for the keyword. The bottom tab will show you the related keywords and its search volume based on the keyword you have entered. You can select a keyword which has high search volume and low competition and has a reasonable bid amount as your keyword. Usually long tail keywords will have low competition and you will be able to rank for that keyword easily.
